Former Coronation Street star Kym Marsh and Gethin Jones have been named as the hosts of BBC One's new show Morning Live.
Plans for the new programme were first revealed earlier this month, with initial reports suggesting that it would be positioned as a rival for ITV's flagship daytime programme This Morning.
The BBC has now confirmed official details about the series, however, revealing that it will air on weekdays from 9.15am to 10am, finishing just as This Morning starts and instead going up against Lorraine in the schedules.
Morning Live is described as "a lively and entertaining mix of topical content and expert advice", with hosts Marsh and Jones joined by a roster of experts including Dr Xand van Tulleken, Rav Wilding, Anna Haugh, Will Kirk and Sabrina Grant.
"I've always enjoyed morning TV, it's a great way to start the day (with a cuppa in hand of course)," said Marsh, who left her role as Michelle Connor on Corrie last year.
"I love nothing more than a good catch up, although this will be on a slightly different scale, more of a daily conversation with our lovely viewers.
"I think variety is key so I'm really excited to work with Gethin and our fantastic guest presenters to bring the latest in lifestyle, health and consumer concerns."
Jones added: "A presenting role on a morning show like this is a bit of a dream for me. What I'm most excited about is the opportunity to delve in to some of the biggest issues at the heart of our everyday lives right now.
"My parents have been shielding and my sister works in a hospital so, as is the case for lots of people, this year has been such a worry. For me, this show couldn't come at a better time."
Morning Live will begin next month and air for eight weeks in the run-up to Christmas, with a return expected in early 2021 should it perform well.
