Matt Damon trapped isolating in small Irish suburb

Hollywood actor Matt Damon is isolating in the small Irish suburb of Dalkey, which has a population of just 8,000 people.

Hollywood actor Matt Damon is isolating in the small Irish suburb of Dalkey after missing the last flight back to the US before the coronavirus lockdown.

The 49-year-old is believed to have been filming new Ridley Scott movie The Last Duel in Ireland last month when the government ordered a shutdown in order to try to halt the spread of the disease, which has killed more than 130,000 people worldwide.

Residents of Dalkey, which has a population of around 8,000 people, have been sharing photos of The Bourne Identity star exercising and collecting groceries in the last few weeks.

One tweeted: "Matt Damon ( huge fan) in Dalkey with a Supervalue bag made my day. Just speaks to how human we all are. This virus has no selectivity, does not discriminate and affects us all over the world. I hope Matt is enjoying his stay here."

Ireland has just over 12,500 confirmed cases of COVID-19 to date, while 444 people have lost their lives.
