New Jurassic World film to kickstart new trilogy?

Jurassic World producer Frank Marshall insists that the upcoming third film will not mark the end of the franchise.

The producer of the Jurassic World trilogy has suggested that the upcoming third movie will mark the start of "a new era" for the franchise.

Jurassic World: Dominion - due out next summer - will see stars from the original Jurassic Park trilogy, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neill, return alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Asked if the new film would therefore serve as a natural endpoint for the franchise, producer Frank Marshall told Collider: "No. It's the start of a new era.

"The dinosaurs are now on the mainland amongst us, and they will be for quite some time, I hope."

Filming on Dominion in London was just three weeks in when the coronavirus lockdown came into force but production is expected to start up again in the coming weeks following a relaxation of government guidelines.
