One Direction singer Niall Horan has insisted that suggestions the band could reform this year are wide of the mark.
Rumours of a reunion to commemorate their formation on The X Factor have gathered pace in recent weeks after Liam Payne revealed that the boys have been discussing a "special project".
Responding specifically to the idea on Instagram Live, Horan said: "No, there's just a lot of talk about it at the moment cause there's like a 10 year... the 10-year anniversary of the band getting together is happening this year.
"Sometimes it feels like it was yesterday, other times it feels like 50 years ago.
"There's been a lot of talk about it but there's no reunion as such. We've just been talking a bit more recently."
The boyband are said to have ruled out the prospect of a full-blown tour but may do a one-off gig, possibly for a TV special, and are also thought to be considering releasing a new single.
