Ryan Seacrest announces his exit as host of E! Live From The Red Carpet after 14 years.

Ryan Seacrest has announced that he is stepping down as chief host of E! Live From The Red Carpet after 14 years.

The 46-year-old is notorious for juggling multiple commitments, including a daily morning radio show, a daily syndicated talk show, the long-running American Idol and multiple shows for E!

Last year Seacrest sparked concern during an episode of Idol when he appeared to slur his words and suffer a facial distortion, with a spokesperson for the star saying that he needed rest at the time.

In a statement on Instagram today, Seacrest wrote: "After 14 years of hosting E!'s Live from the Red Carpet I've decided to move on to new adventures.

"I'll miss the whole crew that works so hard behind the scenes and of course my amazing partner Giuliana [Rancic]. Thanks to everyone for watching all these years."

A spokesperson for E! added: "E! has long enjoyed our relationship with Ryan over the years especially as co-host of E!'s signature red carpet series.

"He has been instrumental in giving viewers a front row seat to some of Hollywood's biggest nights.

"We are extremely appreciative of his many contributions and he will always be part of the E! family."

The network's first red carpet coverage of the season will come on February 28 as the Golden Globes take place in New York and Los Angeles.
