Sex Education season three to begin filming in August

Filming on the new season of Sex Education will reportedly get underway next month.

Filming on the third season of Sex Education is expected to begin in August after a coronavirus-enforced delay.

The Netflix drama was due to begin shooting new episodes in the UK in May but those plans were put on ice due to the deadly disease, which halted TV and film productions around the world.

With the UK now starting to ease out of lockdown, however, Deadline says that producers have started working on plans to get cameras rolling next month.

Speaking about the shutdown earlier this week, Sex Education star Asa Butterfield said: "It's quite hard to keep the two-metre distance when you're kissing someone or doing anything else.

"I'm sure that's something they have realised. As well as that, when you're on a set making film and TV, there are so many parts to this machine."

Netflix has yet to confirm whether the third season of the show will still be ready in time for its scheduled release in January 2021.
