The EFL announces a new four-year deal with talkSPORT and the BBC for continued coverage of the league, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy.

The EFL has announced a new four-year rights deal with talkSPORT and BBC Radio for continued coverage of the league, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy.

talkSPORT remains the exclusive audio home of EFL league matches, with the ability to broadcast commentary of between 130 and 150 Championship games a season, 15 matches from each of League One and League Two, every playoff game and 10 matches a season from the EFL Trophy.

The BBC and talkSPORT share rights to the EFL Cup, with the former allowed to broadcast up to 25 games a season and the latter 30 games a season.

Ben Wright, the EFL's chief commercial officer, said: "We're delighted to continue working alongside talkSPORT and the BBC as long-time partners of the League and look forward to maximising the potential coverage for our Clubs, competitions and our radio partners.

"talkSPORT's approach to EFL coverage over the recent years has been both innovative and engaging, bringing the storylines and drama of the EFL to fans. The new deal will not only continue that trend, but also sees a strong commitment to supporting the life changing work delivered by our community across England and Wales.

"The new agreement will also see the BBC continue its excellent coverage of the Carabao Cup, whilst also keeping supporters up and down the country informed on the latest EFL action on a match-by-match basis. These are incredibly important components to keep all audiences informed of the action and jeopardy witnessed week-in, week-out across our competitions."

The deal starts with the upcoming season and runs to the end of the 2027-28 campaign, with the option of an additional season at the discretion of the EFL.
