Maya Jama has quit Radio 1 after two years with the station, the BBC has confirmed.
The 25-year-old made a "difficult decision" not to renew her contract, a statement said, due to "exciting commitments later in the year".
Recently the DJ was linked with Strictly Come Dancing, which typically begins in September and runs until Christmas.
"Thanks to all you cuties that tuned into the show," Jama said. "It was so great to hear that we have been getting the largest proportion of under 35s tuning in for our on-demand show via BBC Sounds. So we are going out with a bang! Love you."
Lorna Clarke, the BBC's controller of popular music, said: "We'd like to thank Maya for all her commitment and work at Radio 1, and we wish her all the very best with her future."
Jama's final show aired on Friday, May 3.
