Strictly Come Dancing pro Neil Jones clears up speculation over his sexuality by confirming that he is straight.

Strictly Come Dancing pro Neil Jones has addressed rumours about his sexuality by insisting that he is straight.

The 38-year-old married fellow pro and Strictly co-star Katya Jones in 2013 but the pair split last summer, a year on from a scandal that dominated the 2018 edition of the BBC show.

Paparazzi photos showed Katya, 31, kissing her dance partner, comedian Seann Walsh, who later rubbed salt into the wound by declaring: "I'm the guy who kissed a gay man's wife."

Responding to the remark, Neil told The Sun that he is not gay, adding: "In ballroom there's a lot of straight guys.

"But mum was always like, 'It's a shame you're not gay because we could go shopping together'. And I was thinking, 'whether I'm gay or not there's no chance, you take forever'."

Both Neil and Katya are expected to return for the new series of Strictly when it airs later this year.
