Strictly Come Dancing producers are reportedly determined to capitalise on the Team GB spirit by signing up a former Olympian for the new series.
The BBC has already begun revealing the names of some of the celebrities in the lineup, with the likes of Dan Walker, Tom Fletcher, Sara Davies and AJ Odudu among those confirmed so far.
According to The Sun, while almost all of the lineup is now finalised, there are still "one or two slots" remaining and the hope is that an Olympian such as Sam Quek - gold winner in 2016 for women's hockey - could be persuaded to join.
"The country has fallen in love with Team GB and their heroics in Japan," a source told the newspaper.
"That's why getting an Olympic star has become a huge priority. Producers are locked in talks to try and pull off a big late signing.
"Sam would be a big win for the show. She's glamorous, great fun and, as far as viewers are concerned, has been a standout star of the Olympics presenting team."
The new series of Strictly begins on BBC One late next month.
