Emma Willis has admitted that she was "gutted" by Channel 4's decision to axe The Circle three years ago.

The format sees contestants live in individual flats in the same apartment block, with their only form of communication coming via a social messaging service - leaving them all clueless about whether they are all who they claim to be.

The show gained a cult following and prompted Netflix to launch a US version, but after just three series and one celebrity edition, Channel 4 opted to swing the axe on the original version in order to "reinvent and create space for new ideas".

"The Circle, I absolutely adored it and I was gutted that they didn't keep going with it," Willis told Metro to promote Love Is Blind UK, which launches on Netflix on August 14. "Yes, if they brought it back I would love to do it.

"I think the American one is huge and they still make that so I don't think they need a UK version, maybe."

She added: "But hey, Netflix - if you're gonna make a UK version, I'm still here."

The US version, which also features British contestants, has now run for six seasons and a seventh is due to be released later this year.
