Meet The Traitors UK series three contestant Leon Jackman, including their age, job, social media and a Q&A.

Leon Jackman

Age: 40

From: East Midlands

Occupation: Retail store manager

Why did you apply?: "I just love the dynamic of the show and what it entails. Having worked in retail all my life, I always joke around at work about the good versus evil. I think about it when someone comes in and tries to get the cheapest deal but I'm on the other side trying to make them spend as much money as possible!

"The Traitors really grabbed my attention. I like the fact that everyone is working towards the same goal in the tasks and putting money in the pot, but then as soon as that task is finished, it's weird how it's suddenly a different game that you're all playing. I just really wanted to be a part of it."

What did you think of previous series?: "I loved it. I kept hearing about it and one of my colleagues at work kept talking about the Australian version and the American version, so one day me and my wife just said 'let's see what it's like'. We started to watch episode one of the second series, and then just fell in love with it and went back to watch from series one!"

What is your gameplan?: "It's so hard to say if you're going to have a game plan because you are being thrust into this castle with all these different people. If I do have a game plan it's probably going to have to change, so it will be ever evolving.

"One thing that I do feel will benefit me is the fact that I'm quite a talkative, people person. I do it every day at work and I'm a good listener and can make conversation. In terms of this game, I know that I could be friends with someone, and they might have to get thrown under the bus, because ultimately my goal is to win and provide for my family. The players are going to be alright at the end of the day.

"I'm not naive to think that being inside the game properly and feeling that pressure isn't going to be hard, but I'm here to bring home the bacon! The experience is great, but the cherry on top is to have that money as well!

What would you spend the winnings on?: "Well first I'll have to check with the boss – my wife – and see what's going on!

"If I win, that's great, because obviously there are bills to pay and the cost of living has gone up. I'd like to sort my garden shed out; we need a new shed! And there are little things around the house that I would like to get sorted out.

"I'm never thinking we're going to go and jet off around the world and I'll just quit my job! My main thing is always family, so I'd also want to give my mum some money for all the sacrifices she made when I was growing up."
