Gemma Collins announces the death of her beloved cat Twinkle at the age of 22.

Gemma Collins has announced the death of her beloved cat.

The GC rescued the feline - named 'Twinkle' - 22 years ago, when she was just 17 years old.

Posting a photo of Twinkle in happier times to Instagram, Collins wrote: "I rescued her 22 years ago, she passed last night. I'm absolutely heartbroken. I love you Twinkle."

Collins followed up the post with a montage of her favourite pictures of Twinkle set to Whitney Houston's version of 'I Will Always Love You'.

The GC is a huge animal lover and recently revealed that she is attempting to become a vegetarian, telling Loose Women: "I've like 99% become a vegetarian, there's just that 1% I'm struggling with. I got drunk the other night and woke up with a pie and mash."

Collins's current reality series, Diva On Lockdown, continues Sunday night at 9pm on ITVBe.
