Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson has allegedly been approached by a production company about appearing in his own fly-on-the-wall reality show.
The politician, who stepped down as PM in 2022, is known for his flamboyant personality but is also a divisive figure, having courted controversy for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic and for his use of language to describe minority groups in the past.
Last month, Johnson's former cabinet colleague and close friend Jacob Rees-Mogg starred with his family in their own reality show - Meet The Rees-Moggs - for discovery+, and now The Sun claims that Johnson has been offered a similar show following the daily life of him, his wife Carrie and their young family.
"As unlikely as it sounds, an At Home With show has become a more realistic prospect for high-profile politicians ever since Jacob Rees-Mogg made his own one this year," a source told the newspaper.
"Meet The Ress-Moggs was generally well received when it aired a few weeks ago on Discovery+ and Boris even got several name checks in that series. So producers have clearly adopted the nothing-ventured-nothing-gained approach and contacted the former premier on the off chance he might go for it.
"It just goes to show how, more than two years after leaving Downing Street, there's still huge interest in BoJo. As well as being a politician, he has the profile and personality that makes him a celebrity in his own right."
The newspaper says that the production company in question is unknown but cites Channel 4 and Netflix as possible destinations for the programme should it go ahead.
