Cult soap Eldorado will be repeated from the start on the U&Drama channel, it has been announced.
The serial launched in 1992 and followed a group of wealthy British expats living in the fictional coastal town of Los Barcos in Spain.
The BBC invested heavily in the show and had ambitions that it would become a huge new primetime soap, sitting alongside EastEnders and emulating the sun-drenched Aussie soaps Neighbours and Home & Away.
Despite heavy marketing and a prime 7pm slot, Eldorado failed to set the ratings alight however and it was cancelled after just one year and 156 episodes in 1993.
The soap was last repeated on the UK Gold channel more than 20 years ago, in 2002, but now U&Drama has picked up the rights and will replay the show from the beginning.
Starting on Monday, January 27, two episodes will be shown every weekday from 2pm, while all episodes will be available for streaming on U after broadcast.
