The upcoming third season of Ted Lasso could be released later than expected, it has emerged.
The Apple TV+ comedy, which stars Jason Sudeikis as the American manager of a fictional English football side, is highly acclaimed by critics and is one of the streaming service's most successful original shows.
The first two seasons both premiered over the summer and season three was expected to follow suit this year, but Brendan Hunt - aka Ted's number two Coach Beard - has revealed that filming has still not started.
"We're in pre-production and scripts are written," he told TV Line.
"We are definitely starting later this year than in season two, that's for sure. So I would be surprised if our delivery dates were the same.
"That's above my pay grade, I don't know for sure, but I do have a vague understanding of the limits of this dimension we call time, and I would say it seems pretty unlikely that we would [premiere] as early this year."
He added: "It'll happen, and it'll take longer than people want it to, [but] we're just going to try and get it right."
Show star Hannah Waddingham recently revealed that the new season will begin with a special Valentine's Day episode.
