Ted Lasso to make return with surprise fourth season?
Apple TV+ is reportedly close to getting a deal done for a fourth season of Ted Lasso.

Ted Lasso is poised to make a shock comeback with a fourth season, according to reports in the US.

The Apple TV+ comedy-drama - starring Jason Sudeikis as the American manager of an English Premier League side - ran for three seasons between 2020 and 2023, winning a slew of awards and critical acclaim.

The show appeared to have concluded at season three, which wrapped up most of the characters' stories, but Deadline says that another season could be in the works.

The publication reports that options have been picked up for most of the key cast to return, including Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift, and now producer Warner Bros. is thrashing out deals for Sudeikis, Juno Temple and Brendan Hunt.

Phil Dunster, who plays striker Jamie Tartt, is not expected to return as he is now on the cast of both Prime Video's The Devil's Hour and Apple's Surface.

Filming has been slated for an early 2025 start, meaning that new episodes could premiere later next year.
