Dua Lipa climbs to top of albums chart

Dua Lipa claims her first UK number one as Future Nostalgia rises to the summit.

Dua Lipa has climbed to the top of the albums chart with Future Nostalgia, the Official Charts Company has announced.

The acclaimed album made its debut at two last week but sold 7,000 copies more than nearest rival, Lewis Capaldi's Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, to hand the 24-year-old her first number one in the UK.

US soul legend Bill Withers lands his highest ever placing in the UK chart following his death at the age of 81 last week, with compilation The Ultimate Collection in at 10.

The Weeknd continues to reign supreme in the singles chart, with 80,000 sales this week - including 8.6 million streams - giving 'Blinding Lights' its seventh week at the top spot.

Drake's 'Tootsie Slide' opens at three, while Matt Lucas debuts at 34 with 'Baked Potato Song', a charity single raising funds for NHS workers battling the coronavirus outbreak.

Meanwhile, Dua Lipa has another week with three singles inside the top 10, with 'Physical' at four, 'Don't Start Now' at five and 'Break My Heart' at seven.
