Aberdeen confirm that Stephen Glass has been let go from his position as manager following their recent defeat in the Scottish Cup.

Aberdeen have parted ways with manager Stephen Glass today, following their recent defeat.

After just 11 months in charge of the Dons, the decision has been made for him to be relieved of his duties by the club, leaving them ninth in the Scottish Premiership.

Motherwell defeated Aberdeen 2-1 on Saturday, which resulted in them bowing out of the Scottish Cup, leading to the 45-year-old's time as the boss coming to an end.

Aberdeen have only won eight of their 25 matches in the league this season, with the former Dons player having taken over from Derek McInnes in March 2021.

Barry Robson will now be stepping up to take charge of the club on an interim basis, after previously having a post within the under-18s, and he will be joined by the captain Scott Brown in the coaching team.

Aberdeen have only managed to win one game since the turn of the year, which took place against League Two side Edinburgh City in the Scottish Cup.
