Arsenal defender Calum Chambers has revealed ambitions to earn more first-team opportunities this season.
The 20-year-old impressed in Wednesday's 2-1 League Cup win at Tottenham Hotspur, despite scoring at the wrong end to equalise for Spurs in the North London derby.
Chambers endured a torrid first half in the 0-0 draw with Liverpool in August, but the three-time England international says that he is bound to earn more chances after his display at White Hart Lane.
"It would be nice to get a few games under my belt," the youngster, who joined for £16m from Southampton last summer, told the club's official website.
"But any opportunity I am given... I have been training hard so when I get the opportunity, I can give my best performance, to show why I feel I want to be playing.
"When I get the opportunity, I will give it my best shot."
Arsenal travel to Leicester City on Saturday.
