Tottenham Hotspur forward Jermain Defoe claims that he is "Spurs for life", despite posting a picture of himself posing with former Arsenal stars Thierry Henry and Sol Campbell on Twitter.

Jermain Defoe has reassured Tottenham Hotspur fans that he intends to remain at the club for the rest of his career.

Defoe, 30, risked the wrath of Spurs supporters earlier today when he posted a picture of himself posing with former Arsenal stars Thierry Henry and Sol Campbell on Twitter.

However, he swiftly moved to get the White Hart Lane faithful back onside by stating his intention to claim all three points when the two teams meet on Saturday.

He tweeted: "Good banter wiv them can't wait till we get 3points weekend coys.

"Don't worry guys u know I'm spurs for life blue runs through my veins."

Defoe has not scored in his last 12 appearances against the Gunners.
