Arsene Wenger opts to drop Arsenal trio?

Wojciech Szczesny, Mikel Arteta and Olivier Giroud will all reportedly drop out of the Arsenal team for this evening's clash with Swansea City.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly decided to drop three senior players for tonight's home match against Swansea City.

Wenger is believed to have been disappointed with the performances of a large number of his starting lineup during Saturday's 6-0 defeat to London rivals Chelsea.

Consequently, goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, as well as Mikel Arteta and Olivier Giroud, will be omitted from the team at the Emirates Stadium, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims that Szczesny would be replaced between the posts by Lukasz Fabianski, while either Mathieu Flamini or Kim Kallstrom will come in for Arteta in the midfield.

In terms of Giroud, his role as the lone centre-forward is expected to be handed to French youngster Yaya Sanogo, who has never previously started a Premier League fixture.
