Aston Villa are reportedly weighing up a third bid from Arsenal for midfielder Douglas Luiz.
The Brazil international has been the Gunners' prime target for a late deadline-day swoop as Mikel Arteta works around injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny.
However, Villa - who have added to their midfield ranks with the signing of Leander Dendoncker from Wolverhampton Wanderers - have continued to insist that Luiz is not for sale.
According to Sky Sports News, Villa have rejected bids of £20m and £23m from Arsenal for the 24-year-old, but an improved offer of £25m is now under consideration.
The report claims that the signing of Dendoncker could see Villa soften their stance on Luiz, who has entered the final year of his contract with Steven Gerrard's side.
Arsenal are running out of time to get a deal over the line, but the former Manchester City man is said to be keen on a switch to the Premier League leaders before the 11pm cut-off point.
Luiz scored his seventh goal for Aston Villa direct from a corner in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Gunners and has made 116 appearances for the Lions in total since joining in 2019.
