Sports Mole rounds up some of the latest January transfer rumours, including Dominic Solanke to Newcastle United, Cyril Ngonge to Nottingham Forest and Che Adams to Wolverhampton Wanderers

Newcastle United have reportedly made an enquiry about the availability of Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.

Eddie Howe has been a long-standing admirer of Solanke and was responsible for bringing the striker to the club during his time at the Vitality Stadium.

The Magpies are currently without the services of England international Callum Wilson, who is expected to remain sidelined until the end of the month with a calf injury, leaving Alexander Isak as the only recognised striker in the first team.

According to The Telegraph, Newcastle are looking to bolster their attacking depth and have made an enquiry about Solanke but have been told by Bournemouth that he will not be sold this month.

It is also understood that the 26-year-old has been on Arsenal's radar as a potential alternative for their main January target Ivan Toney.

Solanke is in good form this season for the Cherries and has already scored 13 goals in 22 appearances under Andoni Iraola, helping his side to 12th place in the league standings at the halfway point of the season.

The ex-Liverpool forward has a contract at the Vitality Stadium that extends for another three and a half years following an extension he signed in September.

Over at the City Ground, Nottingham Forest have reportedly joined the race to acquire the signature of Aston Villa-linked midfielder Cyril Ngonge from Hellas Verona.

The highly-rated 23-year-old emerged from Club Brugge's youth academy and has already played for PSV Eindhoven, RKC Waalwijk and FC Groningen in his short career.

Forest's new boss Nuno Espirito Santo is expected to look to strengthen his midfield, which currently features the likes of Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi, in the current transfer window.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, the Reds have now joined several clubs in the race to sign Ngonge, with Aston Villa, Napoli, Fiorentina and AC Milan believed to be some of the other high-profile names that have been keeping an eye on the player.

The report adds that Hellas Verona turned down an offer in the region of £8.6m from Fiorentina due to it being lower than their valuation of Ngonge, which is understood to range between £10m and £11m.

The Mastiffs are willing to part ways with the midfielder for the right price, which has led to Napoli and AC Milan making contact with the club, while Villa are believed to have tabled an offer of around £8.6m.

Championship leaders Leicester City are also said to be in the running for Ngonge's signature but are expected to find it difficult to beat off top-flight European suitors.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly keeping a close eye on Southampton striker Che Adams, with Gary O'Neil expected to bolster his attacking options this month.

The 27-year-old attacker has netted a total of seven goals and provided two assists in 24 appearances for the Saints across all competitions this season.

Adams joined Southampton in 2019 and scored 25 goals in 124 Premier League matches before the team was relegated from the top flight last season.

According to Football Insider, Wolves have registered their interest in signing Adams this month, especially after agreeing to Sasa Kalajdzic and Fabio Silva leaving the club on loan in the current transfer window.

The report adds that along with Adams, O'Neil's side are also keeping tabs on West Ham United forward Danny Ings as well as Paris Saint-Germain's Hugo Ekitike.

The Hammers are supposedly seeking a loan fee for Ings and are also requesting that Wolves cover his wages throughout the potential duration of the agreement.

However, it is understood that Wolves would prefer a loan arrangement rather than a permanent transfer for the 31-year-old as they continue to operate under stringent FFP restrictions.
