Brad Guzan: Philippe Senderos has "made my job easier"

Brad Guzan praises the influence that summer signing Philippe Senderos has had on the Aston Villa team.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan has paid tribute to the impact that Philippe Senderos has made on the team since his summer arrival from Valencia.

The Switzerland international, who has previously played for Arsenal and Fulham, was a part of the Villa rearguard that kept three clean sheets in four matches earlier in the campaign.

Speaking about the 29-year-old's presence in front of him on the pitch, Guzan admitted that his job has been made easier.

"He brings a vocal aspect to organising the guys and making sure the guys are in the right position. When you do that, you keep everyone on the same page, which is good," the American told the club's official website.

"He's been brought in do a job and he's been doing it really well. Not that we didn't have that before because I tip my hat to the guys we were in the trenches with last season.

"No disrespect to them because they are top, top players but he's just come in and brought that cohesiveness that you need. For me as a goalkeeper, it's made my job easier because there are some games where I haven't had to do a great deal, which is nice."

Senderos has made eight appearances in all competitions this season.
