Alex McLeish: I can turn it around

Under-fire Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish insists that he can get the club back to winning ways.

Under-fire Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has claimed that he can turn the club's fortunes around.

Villa sit just three points off the relegation zone following Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat at home to fellow strugglers Bolton Wanderers.

Despite being booed by fans after the match, McLeish insists that he can get the team back to winning ways.

"Let's see if I can turn it. I believe so. I've done it before," he told reporters.

"I've done it at Rangers. We had a bad year then turned it again with some good planning and that always helps."

Supporters are expected to protest against the Scot before their home match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, May 6.
