Lautaro Martinez 'put off Barcelona move by Lionel Messi saga'

The ongoing saga involving Lionel Messi and Barcelona has allegedly resulted in Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez being put off a transfer to Camp Nou.

Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez has reportedly been put off a future transfer to Barcelona.

Since the turn of the year, Martinez has been heavily linked with a switch to Camp Nou, only for the Catalan giants to shelve plans earlier this summer due to their precarious financial situation.

However, there is now talk of Barcelona making an official bid for the Argentina international, providing that Lionel Messi is sold in the coming weeks.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the 23-year-old has had a change of heart due to the saga which has evolved regarding the future of his compatriot.

The report suggests that Martinez is instead open to penning fresh terms at San Siro, extending his contract at the Italian outfit past 2023.

Martinez scored 21 goals in all competitions during the most recent campaign.
