Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto has backed his club's reported pursuit of Celta Vigo attacker Nolito.
Nolito, 28, was strongly linked with a return to Camp Nou in the summer after contributing 13 goals and 13 assists in La Liga last season.
Celta managed to repel the interest, but it is understood that Barcelona will launch an official offer when the winter transfer window opens.
Roberto, who played with Nolito for Barcelona B from 2009 until 2011, has said that he has "great memories" of his time with the attacker, who has already scored five times and registered three assists in seven league games this term.
"I played with [Nolito] for Barca B and I have great memories of him on and off the pitch," Roberto told Mundo Deportivo. "He is a great player and he's playing really well at the moment, both with Celta Vigo and the Spain team. He would be a great signing, but the manager will have to decide [if we sign him]."
Noilito, who has also been linked with Arsenal, was part of the Spain squad that booked their spot at Euro 2016 last week.
