Lee Clark insists Blackpool can survive in the Championship this season

Blackpool can beat the drop and remain a Championship side next season with a "ridiculous" run of form between now and May, according to manager Lee Clark.

Blackpool manager Lee Clark still believes that his side can survive relegation this season, but admits that they need to go on a "ridiculous" run of form in order to do so.

The Tangerines are bottom of the Championship table and 12 points from safety after today's 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers, but Clark still insists that they can finish strongly and beat the drop.

He told reporters: "I knew when I first walked through the door it was an extremely tough situation, I thought we can [survive], I still believe we can.

"It's getting harder by the game but we've still got to keep fighting. What's encouraging is the players are still fighting, they aren't throwing in the towel and the supporters can see that.

"We've just got to keep going. I know this game, I've been it in long enough, things can happen that are absolutely outrageous and from now until the end of the season we could go on a ridiculous run of wins that do it for us. While there's the possibility of doing it we've got to hope we can."

Blackpool have won only four games all season.
