Saturday's Primeira Liga predictions including Braga vs. Porto

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Primeira Liga fixtures, including Braga vs. Porto.

Boavista vs. Vizela (Saturday, 3.30pm)

Boavista are not out of relegation danger heading into Saturday's Primeira Liga clash against Vizela at Estadio do Bessa on the final day.

The Panthers cannot end in the bottom two positions but aim to avoid dropping into the relegation playoff spot against an opponent who have already lost their top-flight status.

We say: Boavista 1-1 Vizela

While Boavista may be backed to secure maximum points against relegated opposition, the hosts drawing three on the trot on home turf and their inability to score consistently on home turf point to a possible stalemate. Four of the last five meetings between both sides have ended without a winner, and another tie could be in the offing this weekend.

Estrela Amadora vs. Gil Vicente (Saturday, 3.30pm)

Estrela Amadora are not out of the woods in the Primeira Liga heading into the final day against Gil Vicente at Estadio Jose Gomes on Saturday.

The vulnerable home side have been in wretched form in 2024, claiming just two wins, and they hope their opponents are on the proverbial beach in gameweek 34.

We say: Estrela Amadora 1-1 Gil Vicente

Saturday's match is tricky to call, as Estrela's home form betters only four clubs in the Primeira Liga, while Gil Vicente's road return is nothing to write home about.

However, the away side's recent four-match undefeated run — with four points picked up from their recent six — points to them finding some form at the backend of the season, and a stalemate could be on the cards in Amadora.

Farense vs. Portimonense (Saturday, 3.30pm)

It is a must-win game on Saturday for Portimonense as the club attempts to secure its survival in the Primeira Liga on the final day of the season.

While their opponents, SC Farense, have nothing specific to fight for, it is all on the line for the visitors.

We say: SC Farense 1-2 Portimonense

SC Farense certainly boasts the stronger squad heading into this match,

and on paper, they will be considered the favourites to win due to the season that they have had.

However, with so much on the line for the visitors and the threat of relegation looming over them, they could pick up three points here to give themselves a fighting chance of survival.

Arouca vs. Guimaraes (Saturday, 3.30pm)

Arouca and Vitoria de Guimaraes draw the curtains on the 2023-24 Portuguese Primeira Liga campaign when they go head to head on Saturday evening.

Os Vimaranenses are unbeaten in each of their last eight visits to the Estadio Municipal de Arouca since December 2013 and head into the weekend looking to extend this impressive run.

We say: Arouca 1-1 Vitoria de Guimaraes

Still licking their wounds from their defeat against Braga, Vitoria de Guimaraes will head into the weekend looking to pick up a morale-boosting result and end the season on a high. However, Arouca have rock-solid at home of late and we predict they will do just enough to force a share of the spoils.

Sporting Lisbon vs. Chaves (Saturday, 6.00pm)

Sporting Lisbon and Chaves draw the curtain on the 2023-24 Portuguese Primeira Liga campaign when they square off at the Estadio Jose Alvalade on Saturday.

Both sides have had contrasting campaigns, with the hosts storming to their first league title since 2021 while the Flavienses have seen their two-year stint in the top flight come to an end.

We say: Sporting Lisbon 2-0 Chaves

Sporting Lisbon have enjoyed a terrific campaign, storming to the league title with an eight-point lead over their closest rival. Amorim's side will look to close out the season on a high and we see them doing just that against a deflated Chaves side who will be playing in the Segunda division next season.

Moreirense vs. Estoril (Saturday, 6.00pm)

Moreirense and Estoril Praia bring their 2023-24 Portuguese Primeira Liga campaign to an end when they square off at the Parque de Jogos Comendador Joaquim de Almeida Freitas on Saturday.

Having secured a comfortable 3-1 victory in January's reverse fixture, Os verdes e brancos will head into the weekend looking to complete the double over the visitors and make it four wins from four to end the campaign.

We say: Moreirense 2-0 Estoril Praia

Moreirense have enjoyed an impressive return to the top flight and will be looking to close out the campaign on a high. Borges's men are currently firing on all cylinders having hit their stride once again and we see them coming away with all three points in front of their home supporters.

Braga vs. Porto (Saturday, 8.30pm)

Braga coach Artur Jorge reacts on December 12, 2023© Reuters

The Estadio Municipal plays host to a tense final matchday in the Primeira Liga as Braga and Porto go head-to-head in a winner-takes-all clash for the Europa League spot.

Os Arcebispos are currently fourth in the league standings and head into this weekend's season final just one point below the visitors, who are set for their lowest league finish since the 2015-16 campaign.

We say: Braga 2-2 Porto

In what is a season-defining fixture, we expect Braga and Porto to go all out in search of the win as they look to secure a top-three finish. However, we predict both sides will cancel each other's efforts in a high-scoring stalemate.
