Report: Chelsea monitor Goncalo Guedes

A report claims that Chelsea are closely watching the development of 18-year-old Benfica attacker Goncalo Guedes, who has been called into the latest Portugal squad.

Chelsea are reportedly closely monitoring the development of Benfica attacker Goncalo Guedes.

The 18-year-old, who came through the academy at Benfica, made his first-team debut for his Portuguese club in 2014 and has scored three times in nine league appearances this season.

According to O Jogo, Chelsea are one of a number of clubs watching the teenager, but the Blues would rather wait until next summer to make a move, despite the interest in the forward.

Guedes, who has been included in Fernando Santos's latest Portugal squad after impressing in the early part of the season, has also recently been linked with a move to Arsenal.

It is understood that the youngster's latest contract includes a buy-out clause in the region of £42m.
