Coventry City edge out Birmingham after extra time at the Ricoh Arena.

Coventry City have reached the third round of the League Cup courtesy of a 3-2 win over Birmingham City at the Ricoh Arena after extra time.

Birmingham were level just a minute before half-time, Jonathan Spector scoring from Morgaro Gomis's assist.

The second half saw chances but no more goals as the game went into extra time.
