Saido Berahino only focused on maintaining form

West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino admits that he is only focused on playing well for the Baggies and England Under-21 side rather than eyeing a senior call-up.

West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino has admitted that he is only focused on playing well for his team and the England Under-21s rather than worrying about a call-up for the senior side.

The 21-year-old has been touted as a possible call-up to Roy Hodgson's team as he has notched five goals for the Baggies this season, and scored a crucial penalty to hand Gareth Southgate's side a 2-1 lead going into the second leg of their Euro 2015 qualifying playoff match against Croatia.

He told reporters: "You never know how quickly it will come. You just concentrate on each game. But of course you notice all the names who have got called up and you aspire to that. I want to stay focused and do well for my club and country.

"I have always believed in myself. I have worked hard on my game. It is great that it is paying off and I am getting the rewards. I have just got to carry it on. It is a long season, and I have got to stay humble and kick on."

Berahino and his England teammates play the second leg of their playoff clash on Tuesday.
