Tim Cahill reveals his delight at sealing his move to the New York Red Bulls from Everton.

Tim Cahill has revealed that New York Red Bulls' vision was a key factor in his move to the MLS side from Everton.

The Australian spent eight years at Goodison Park before completing the £1m transfer and he admits that he is excited by the opportunity to play in America.

Cahill told the club's official website: "I am very happy to start a new chapter of my career with the New York Red Bulls.

"I am impressed with what the Red Bulls are trying to accomplish in MLS and within American soccer and I am looking forward to this new challenge."

Erik Soler, New York's sporting director, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to bring in a player of Tim's calibre to the Red Bulls.

"He is the technical, physical presence we have been looking to add in our team and he brings a wealth of experience to our club having played in some of the highest levels of international soccer."

Cahill will be unveiled by the Red Bulls on Monday.
