Roberto Martinez left with mixed feelings after draw

Roberto Martinez admits to being left with mixed feelings after Everton's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

Roberto Martinez has admitted that he was "delighted" despite seeing Crystal Palace hold his Everton side to a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park.

The Toffees created the better opportunities in the second half before falling behind to Scott Dann's header, but Romelu Lukaku scored his 50th goal for the club to secure a point.

Martinez was quick to reveal his pride with the fightback on a night when he believes Everton deserved to collect all three points.

"It was a well-fought performance," the Spaniard told Sky Sports News. "They are very direct, they use their power and pace very well and we coped until the last 10 minutes. You have to score goals against them and we hit the post and crossbar, and on another day we would have scored them and made the difference.

"Their record shows that they don't give leads away, we are delighted we got back into it but were disappointed we dropped two points in our eyes."

The draw moved Everton up to ninth in the Premier League.
