The only all-European tie of the World Cup quarter-finals sees 1998 winners France take on three-time champions Germany at the Maracana on Friday afternoon.

So far in the tournament, France have exceeded expectations while Germany, who have finished in the top three at the last three World Cups, are yet to hit top gear.
