Live Commentary: Getafe 0-1 Levante - as it happened

Sports Mole brings you live coverage of today's La Liga clash between Getafe and Levante at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Good morning and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage of today's La Liga clash between Getafe and Levante at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

The home side have made a solid start to the La Liga campaign and sit in 10th position with 10 points from their opening seven league matches. Meanwhile, Levante sit two spots lower but with the same points as their opponents.

The corresponding fixture between the two sides last season ended in a 1-1 draw in August 2011, but Getafe recorded an impressive 2-1 win over Levante in January of this year.

Both sides also enter the match with victories in their last league encounters before the international break.

A single goal was enough to secure all the points for Getafe away at Real Zaragoza, while Levante recorded a home win over struggling Valencia.

Please note that kickoff is at 11am.

12.55pmThe result moves Levante into fifth place in the table. Meanwhile, Getafe remain 11th. Thanks for joining Sports Mole for the action and join us from 2.30pm for Espanyol vs. Rayo. Until then!

12.52pmSo there we have it. Levante pick up their first away win of the season courtesy of a late strike from Michel. The home side had the majority of possession, but they could not force an opener.

FULL-TIMEGetafe 0-1 Levante

90 min+2Getafe continue to flood forward, but still that elusive pass cannot be found. That has been the story of their match. Plenty of possession, but no real end product.

90 minMeanwhile, we will play an additional three minutes of time. Can the home side force an equaliser?

89 minWhat a way to open your account! You just sensed that something was coming. It was going to take a special moment and Michel has provided that. What an effort. Can the home side respond?

88 minWhat was I saying? Wonderful from Michel as he strikes a dipping effort into the top corner from outside the box.

87 minGOAL! Getafe 0-1 Levante (Michel)

87 minAnother ball is over-hit as Torres attempts to find Leon. That pretty much sums up this match. Overall, both teams will be pretty happy with a point.

85 minPossession football from Levante at the moment as we enter the final five minutes of play. Is there going to be a winner? One goal wins it now.

83 minHalf-chance for Castro as Leon whips a dangerous cross into the box, but his effort is over the crossbar. Little over seven minutes of normal time remaining.

81 minStill Getafe remain on the attack, but they cannot force that elusive pass behind Levante. It is going to take something special to open the scoring.

79 minSo nearly for the home side as Leon slips a fine pass towards Castro, but the ball just runs out of play. There are suggestions that Levante will attempt to settle for a point here.

77 minAnother change for Getafe as Gavilan is replaced by Adrian Colunga. Will we have a winner in the final 13 minutes? There are signs that it could be on the way.

75 minChance! So nearly the opener for Levante as Rios strikes an effort from outside the box, but Moya makes a smart save to clear the danger.

73 minMeanwhile, double change for Levante as Barkero and Juanlu are replaced by Michel and Ruben Garcia. Little over 15 minutes of normal time remaining.

72 minAnother chance for the home side as Alvaro meets a Torres cross in the box, but his header is straight at Munua. Levante cannot get out of their own half at the moment.

70 minIt's all Getafe at the moment as they force corner after corner, but still Levante resist the danger. The opening goal appears to be coming.

68 minChance! Another good opportunity for the home side as Leon whips a dangerous cross into the box, but Munua palms the ball to safety.

66 minSighter for the away side as Barkero strikes an effort from outside the box, but it was always rising. Meanwhile, the rain is starting to fall in Madrid.

64 minGetafe remain the bigger threat in attacking areas, but neither side can find that elusive final ball. It's ever so tight in the middle of the park.

62 minAnd indeed they do as Pedro Rios replaces former Liverpool winger El Zhar. The match was crying out for some fresh legs. Little under 30 minutes of the match remaining.

60 minDouble change for Getafe as Lafita and Alcacer are replaced by Alvaro Vasquez and Diego Castro. Levante surely must be thinking about freshening it up as well.

58 minReal end-to-end match as we approach the 60-minute mark. However, chances remain few and far between. The game is crying out for an opening goal.

56 minAgain the away side threaten as El Zhar whips a dangerous cross into the area, but Torres clears for a corner. Both sides are now carrying an attacking threat.

54 minDecent football from Levante as Barkero and Diop combine in midfield, but the final ball is just too long for Martins. It is a much better match than in the first period.

52 minIt is simply all one-way traffic at the moment with Getafe in total control. However, Levante are a threat on the counter with the pace of Martins and El Zhar.

50 minChance! Best chance of the match for the home side as Leon whips a dangerous cross into the penalty area, but it drifts straight out of play. That's better.

48 minBoth teams are knocking possession around much quicker in this second period. However, neither team can keep the ball for large periods. This really could be decided by the odd goal.

46 minGetafe kick us off in the second period. And immediately you can sense that the tempo has been raised.

12pmHere we go then. Both sets of players join us on the pitch ahead of the second period. Which team will blink first at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez? Let's hope for some goals.

11.58pmIt has been a scrappy match with both sides giving away a host of fouls in midfield. You just get the feeling that the match will be decided by the odd goal.

11.54amGetafe dominated possession with 64%, while they have had seven shots to Levante's two. However, both sides have managed two shots on target.

11.50amSo there we have it. Getafe and Levante remain level at the break after a fairly quiet 45 minutes of football in Madrid. Let's take a look at some statistics from the opening half.

HALF-TIMEGetafe 0-0 Levante

45 minMeanwhile, we will play just the one minute of added time at the end of the half.

44 minStill Getafe threaten in the final stages of the half with a host of corners, but Levante stand up to the pressure on more than one occasion.

42 minAnother sighter for the home side as Leon fires a corner just under the crossbar, but the danger is cleared by Navarro. Little under three minutes of normal time remaining.

40 minHalf-chance for Getafe as Leon whips a dangerous free kick into the penalty area, but Navarro jumps highest to head clear. All one-way traffic in the past few moments.

38 minDecent pressure from the away side as they force a corner on the right, but El Zhar's cross is cleared by Leon. Little over five minutes of the half remaining.

36 minThe home side have certainly upped the pace in the past few moments. This time it was Alcacer who advanced into the Levante box, but only a fine challenge from Garcia cleared the danger.

34 minAgain it's bright work from Getafe as Leon advances into the penalty area, but his cross is blocked by Pedro Lopez. Suddenly the match has a bit of urgency. Keep this coming!

33 minHalf-chance for the home side as Gavilan collects a pass from Rafa, but his effort is pushed wide by Munua. Finally we have had an attempt on goal.

31 minWe have seen very little from Levante'a attacking duo of Martins and El Zhar thus far. Meanwhile, aside from Leon, Getafe have struggled to get their forward players on the ball.

29 minHalf-chance for Diop as he strikes an effort from distance, but Moya gathers the danger with ease. It's a little bit better from the away side.

27 min... but in keeping with the context of the match, the ball from Barkero is poor and drifts straight out of play. That's not great.

26 minI would love to be able to bring you some action, but there has been a real lack of it thus far. However, Levante have a free kick some 40 yards from goal...

24 minPossession football from the home side at the moment as we approach the 30-minute mark in the match. There have been a couple of half-chances, but no more than that.

22 minFirst yellow card of the match is handed to Rafa Lopez for handball when Martins chipped the ball over the defender. That has been the star moment of this half thus far.

20 minIt's a slightly bitty match at the moment with both sides giving away free kicks in the opposing half. The game is really crying out for some inspiration.

18 minAgain it breaks down on the edge of the box for Getafe as Leon combines with Lafita, but Barkero is there to make the challenge. End-to-end stuff at the moment.

16 minNot a great deal happening at the moment truth be told. Getafe are enjoying possession of the ball, while the threat from Levante is on the counter.

14 minIt just isn't quite happening for the home side at the moment. Alcacer and Torres combine to good effect outside the box, but it breaks down.

12 minAgain it's smart work from Leon as he picks up possession outside the box before firing an effort towards goal, but Munua is on hand to collect the danger. No real chances for either side thus far.

10 minThe match has just become ever so sloppy in the past few moments with both sides exchanging possession in midfield. You just get the feeling that it is going to be that type of match.

8 minEarly chance for Levante as El Zhar attempts to find the run of Diop. However, Miguel Moya collects the danger on this mild morning in Madrid.

6 minDecent work from Getafe as Miguel Torres advances down the left, but David Navarro is on hand to clear the danger for a corner. It is all one-way traffic at the moment.

4 minIt will be interesting to see how Martins does for the away side. The former Newcastle United striker has scored two goals since joining from Rubin Kazan in the summer. However, the home side are dominating possession in the early stages.

2 minHalf-chance for the home side as Pedro Leon strikes an effort from distance, but it was always moving wide of the target.

1 minGetafe kick us off and immediately take control of possession in midfield. There are quite a few empty seats in the stadium it must be said.

10.57amRight, here we go then. Both sets of players have joined us on the pitch ahead of kickoff. Victory for either could move them as high as fifth in the table.

10.54amOur final Spanish commentary of the day pits Real Sociedad against Atletico Madrid from 8pm. Stay with us and you will not miss a kick.

10.51amLooking ahead to the rest of the day's action. Join us from 2.30pm for Espanyol vs. Rayo Vallecano. Meanwhile, Granada vs. Zaragoza will follow at 5pm.

10.48amRegular followers of my commentaries will know what time it is now - my pre-match prediction. I think this game has got a 1-1 draw written all over it. But I expect Levante's pace to cause the home side problems.

10.45amIn terms of the head-to-head record between the two sides, both have won six and drawn eight of their 20 matches. But Getafe have a slightly better goals scored with 1.15 per match to Levante's 1.1. I bet you didn't know that!

10.42amTeams:

Getafe: Moya; Torres, Rafa, Abraham, Valera; Lacen, Martinez, Leon, Lafita; Torres, Alcacer

Levante: Munua; Navarro, Garcia, Ballesteros, Lopez; Barkero, Iborra, Lopez, El Zhar; Diop, Martins

10.39amTeam News: Pedro Leon and Xavi Torres have both been passed fit for the home side. Meanwhile, Levante name Nabil El Zhar and Obafemi Martins in attack.

10.36amLevante have won two of their last three league matches, but they have suffered defeat in their last two - in the league to Osasuna and in the Europa League against German outfit Hannover.

10.33amHowever, our focus now switches to two sides that have made encouraging starts to their domestic campaigns. The home side enter the match having won their last two league matches, but they have struggled in their own backyard thus far.

10.30amGood morning all! What a Saturday of La Liga action it was. The highlight was undoubtedly the nine-goal thriller between Deportivo La Coruna and Barcelona at the Riazor. However, there were also wins for Malaga, Real Madrid and Valencia.
