Tom Huddlestone: 'We deserved to win'

Hull midfielder Tom Huddlestone believes that his side deserved their victory in this afternoon's FA Cup semi-final with Sheffield United.

Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone has expressed his belief that his side deserved their victory in this afternoon's FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield United.

The Tigers booked their place in May's final courtesy of a topsy-turvy 5-3 victory over the Blades, who went into half time with a 2-1 lead before the Premier League side fought back after the break.

Huddlestone, who was among the scorers for Hull, admitted that his side weren't at their best in the first half but believes that manager Steve Bruce's decision to make two changes at half time was exactly what they needed.

"We were feeling disappointment at half time. We've had a great season all the lads, and we didn't do too well in the first 45 minutes. The manager tweaked a few things at half time and in the second half I thought we deserved to win the game," Huddlestone told BT Sport.

"It was spot on at half time and just what we needed. We went two up top and [Sone] Aluko, I think he was the game changer really.

"Obviously, I probably don't score as many as I should but I managed to get forward and tried to relax myself and managed to put it in the corner."

Hull are looking to lift the first major trophy in their history and will be appearing in the FA Cup final for the first time.
