Steve Evans draws first match as Leeds United boss

Leeds United draw 1-1 against Fulham in Steve Evans's first match as manager.

Steve Evans has drawn his first match in charge of Leeds United 1-1 to Fulham.

Fulham started on the front foot with shots from Ross McCormack and Ryan Tunnicliffe, but it was Leeds striker Chris Wood who was first to test the opposition goalkeeper in the 20th minute.

Moussa Dembele gave Fulham the lead two minutes later when he hit the back of the net from the right side of the penalty area.

Lewis Cook then saw his shot saved and Gaetano Berardi called Joe Lewis into action again before half time.

Leeds pushed for an equaliser through Tom Adeyemi and Mirco Antenucci but both players' shots were blocked.

The scores were level after 62 minutes, though, when Ben Pringle handled the ball in the area and Wood stepped up to convert from 12 yards.

It was end-to-end in the closing stages. First, Tunnicliffe's shot was saved before Stuart Dallas was denied at the other end.

Shots from Sol Bamba and Alexander Kacaniklic were both saved, and Cauley Woodrow missed the target in stoppage time as the match finished level.
