An own goal from Esteban Cambiasso handed West Bromwich Albion a 1-0 win over Leicester City in their Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium this afternoon to leave Nigel Pearson's charges in danger of dropping into the relegation zone.
Despite the Foxes being the better side overall in the first half, Wes Morgan's clearance in the 47th minute bounced off Cambiasso and past Kasper Schmeichel to gift the Baggies the lead.
Leicester pressed forward in a bid to find an equaliser, but West Brom held on for all three points to climb to 10th in the table.

The Foxes have made four changes from their 2-0 defeat away at Swansea City last week, with Liam Moore, Dean Hammond, Leonardo Ulloa and Riyad Mahrez making way in the starting XI for Marcin Wasilewski, Andy King, Esteban Cambiasso and Matthew James.
Meanwhile, the Baggies made wholesale changes when they took on Bournemouth in the League Cup on Tuesday, but their starting XI today is the same that drew 2-2 at Crystal Palace in the Premier League last week.
So then, Nigel Pearson's charges started well in their first season back in the Premier League, winning eight points from their opening games against sides including Everton, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United, but now they are without a win in four, languishing just above the relegation zone in 17th.
West Brom, on the other hand, went without a win in four games themselves at the start of the season, but have since stabilised their form, taking eight points from their next five games. That said, they were winless in October - could today see Alan Irvine's men remedy this?
The Premier League table is fairly tight at the moment - only five points separate ninth-placed Everton and second-from-bottom Queens Park Rangers, so despite four places between today's competitors at the King Power, just one solitary point separates the two.
Despite Leicester's struggles, they are in fact unbeaten at home in the league, with one win and three draws. Arsenal, Chelsea and Southampton are the only other unbeaten sides. That said, they've failed to score in their last three games - are the odds stacked for a goalless draw?

Now for some stats regarding today's away side - the Baggies have only lost once in their last five Premier League games, winning two and drawing two, and averaging two goals per match in that run.
However, they may be feeling a little tender following their 2-1 League Cup defeat to Championship outfit Bournemouth in midweek, and also, they have only won one of their last seven league away games.
As you can see, the statistics are hinting at a goalless draw, but one man who could make a difference is West Brom's Saido Berahino. The 21-year-old striker is the top-scoring Englishman in the Premier League with seven goals, including five in his last four league matches. He is definitely in form.

REFEREE WATCH: This game was supposed to be officiated by Mark Clattenburg, but the veteran ref has been dropped for falling foul of protocol last week. His place has been taken by Stuart Atwell, who will be in charge of his first Premier League game since January 2012 - he came under fire for awarding a 'ghost goal' in Watford's 2-2 draw with Reading in September 2008.
Not long to go now, so I will make my prediction for this game - I reckon it'll be a 1-1 draw, Berahino adding to his goal tally for the Baggies.

KICKOFF! The game is underway!
West Brom concede an early corner as Nugent releases Vardy on the left flank. King meets it with his head, but Foster makes an easy save.
A positive start from Leicester here, with Vardy giving the visitors plenty to think about in these early stages.
West Brom now pushing forward. Gardner tries a through ball, but Berahino is stopped for offside. The 21-year-old will be one to watch, given his great form at the moment.
But the hosts threaten again, De Laet marauding down the right-hand side. Just as he looks to break into the box, Pocognoli does well to clear the danger.
Both teams here at the KP are closing each other down quite well. Little in the way of opportunities.
CHANCE! The first concrete effort of the game falls to Drinkwater, but he was well closed down by the Baggies back line, with the ensuing shot from 20 yards flying over.
CHANCE! At the other end, Berahino times his run well following Dorrans's pass, but his low shot from distance is saved by Schmeichel.
The action now flowing steadily, as Vardy wins a dangerous free-kick from Lescott wide on the right. James swings it in, but West Brom clear at the second attempt.
PENALTY CALL! Vardy bears down into the Baggies box, where he is brought down under a challenge from Lescott. The referee, however, waves the calls away. One of those either-way fouls to be fair, would have been a little harsh had it been given.
CHANCE! Berahino's pass on the edge of the Foxes area goes to Sessegnon, but the Beninese midfielder fires a tame effort low at Schmeichel.
CHANCES! The action flowing thick and fast now. First James fires from about 20 yards, the effort deflecting out, then a thumping Morgan header from James's corner whizzes just wide.
Cambiasso pushes down into the final third, but his attempt at a through ball to Vardy doesn't quite work.
OFF THE LINE! Moments after creating an attacking chance, the Argentine veteran is on hand to head off the Foxes goalline following a dangerous West Brom corner. Gardner was there with a seemingly goal-bound header.
Wisdom nods behind under no pressure, with Wasilewski unable to connect with the ensuing corner. Moments later, Morgan heads the ball down to Drinkwater, who forces a corner from his shot.
CHANCE! Vardy attempts an ambitious overhead kick, but Foster is able to make the save. Not long until half time now, and Leicester on the up...
CHANCE! ...but that doesn't mean that the visitors aren't able to prove a handful themselves. Following some great link-up play between Berahino and Sessegnon, Brunt blasts the subsequent effort over.
HALF-TIME: LEICESTER 0-0 WEST BROM
So just one minute added on at the end of the first half, with the action petering out in the final five or so minutes of the period. As it stands, the game at the KP is goalless, despite a bevy of chances from both sides.
The Foxes will be more pleased with their overall display in the opening 45 minutes. They edged possession and had more shots than their opponents today.

The Baggies, however, had the most cutting chances of the first half, with Berahino's shot in the 17th minute forcing a good save from Schmeichel, and let's not forget that only Cambiasso stood between Gardner's header and a one-goal lead for Alan Irvine's side.
The second half is coming up soon. We will find out whether Leicester can build on their first-half display, maintain their unbeaten form at home and possibly get back into the scoring groove, or whether Berahino will add to his already impressive goalscoring tally this season for West Brom.

Oh dear! What a disastrous own goal conceded by the hosts! Morgan attempts to fend off Berahino's cutback, but his clearance bounces off Cambiasso and past Schmeichel to gift the Baggies the lead on a platter!
How will Leicester recover from this setback? The visitors now appear a lot more confident, Morrison playing in Dorrans who lets rip from around 25 yards, but Schmeichel saves well.
Both sides going at it hell for leather now. The Foxes want to pull a goal back, the Baggies want to extend their lead. Nugent plays in Vardy into the final third, but Foster scuffs a clearance, while at the other end, Brunt's ball to Berahino is cleared by Wasilewski.
As we're approaching the hour mark, King jumps to head James cross from the right, but he can't get it on target to test Foster. Leicester slowly building themselves back into the game.
More pressing from Leicester. De Laet plays in Vardy, but again, the Baggies keeper is first to it, and moments later, Morgan's header at the far post following a James corner proves too tame.
CHANCE! Vardy beats Lescott and blasts a shot low into the hands of Foster, who initially fumbles but then secures the ball.

Cambiasso picks out Nugent in the final third, but the Englishman's subsequent cross evades Vardy at the far post. 25 minutes for the Foxes to pull this game back following their farcical own goal at the start of the second half.
SUBSTITUTION: David Nugent comes off, on comes Leonardo Ulloa. The new arrival on the pitch has scored five goals in his first five league games, but has not had a shot in his subsequent four appearances.
Another wasted opportunity for Leicester as Ulloa's cross from the left flank once again proves too forceful for the player at the far Baggies post, this time James.
CHANCE! And it's a great effort from the home side as Ulloa's cross falls, by way of a deflection, to the unmarked King, but Foster scrambles across goal to save his header from just eight yards out. That was close!
CHANCE! Leicester aren't so much knocking at the door as shoulder-barging it in the hope of smashing through. A very deep cross from De Laet is headed towards the bottom corner by Ulloa, but Foster, a rock in between the posts, saves once again.
SUBSTITUTIONS: Both sides make changes with less than 10 minutes to go. For the home side, Vardy and Drinkwater come off for Wood and debutant loanee Powell, while the visitors exchange Sessegnon for Yacob.
Wood, who came on as a sub just two minutes prior for the Foxes, holds up the ball well on the edge of the box, but following his turn, the subsequent shot lacks pace and accuracy.
BOOKING: Craig Gardner is the first player to go into the book, for time-wasting while Cambiasso was lining up for a free kick.
SUBSTITUTION: Second change for the visitors as Berahino comes off for Anichebe.
CHANCE! My word! Leicester were so close to finding that elusive equaliser following a goalmouth scramble, but Wood is penalised for a high foot! Very little time left for the hosts to salvage something from this game!
The referee indicates four minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the second half.
SUBSTITUTION: Third and final change for West Brom as Pocognoli is replaced by Gamboa.

And it's an agonising defeat for the Foxes against West Brom today as the Foxes were arguably the better of the two sides in the first half, before a calamitous own goal at the start of the second period proved decisive!
