Liverpool will endeavour to maintain or increase their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table when they pit their wits against Southampton on Sunday at St Mary's.
While Arsenal and Manchester City falter, Arne Slot's juggernaut have remained almost perfect to build up an unassailable lead at the summit, thanks in no small part to the contributions of Mohamed Salah.
As contract speculation rumbles on in the background, the 32-year-old has conjured up a marvellous eight goals and six assists in just 11 league games this season, and he is also well-versed in striking down the Saints.
Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at Salah's record in this fixture ahead of Liverpool's trip to the South Coast.

Averaging a direct goal contribution a game against Southampton, Salah has taken on the Saints 11 times in his career and has 11 involvements against them, seven goals of his own and four assists.
The Egypt international has also found himself on the winning side in nine of those battles, only suffering one defeat - at Anfield in January 2021 - and being involved in one draw, a 4-4 St Mary's spectacular in May 2023.
Salah contributed an assist for Diogo Jota to score the final goal in that eight-strike extravaganza, although he was not involved in the 3-0 FA Cup win in the 2023-24 campaign, watching on from the sidelines due to a muscular problem.
While Salah's record against Southampton looks terrific from a first glance, the bulk of his contributions against the Saints came during the earlier stages of his Liverpool career; the goals have since dried up for the Egyptian wing wizard.
Indeed, Salah is now on a five-game scoreless run against the South Coast side in the Premier League since netting twice in a 4-0 home win in the 2019-20 campaign, although he has still registered three assists in that five-match goal drought.
At first, Southampton could not live with Salah in a Liverpool jersey, as the attacker produced five goals and one assist from four Premier League showdowns across the 2017-18 and 2018-19 campaigns, scoring in each of those battles.
However, the ex-Chelsea man only has one assist to show from his last three away matches against Southampton - he has not scored at St Mary's since a sensational solo effort in April 2019.
Should Salah end his South Coast curse and provide both a goal and assist on Sunday, though, he will have both scored and set up a teammate in 36 different Premier League games, matching the all-time record set by Wayne Rooney.
