James Milner has revealed that he is ready to "run through a brick wall" for Brendan Rodgers ahead of his first season as a Liverpool player.
The England international opted to leave Manchester City for Anfield when his contract expired earlier this summer, and with Arsenal also reportedly interested in his services, Milner claims that the opportunity to play for Rodgers was a major factor in his decision.
"Brendan had a massive role," the 29-year-old is quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.
"Obviously the club does not need selling, but I spoke to the manager about his plans for the team and for myself. He knew a lot about me.
"After the conversation, I felt like I wanted to go and run through a brick wall for the manager and the club. He's that sort of manager."
Milner could make his debut against Thailand All-Stars on Tuesday.
