Saido Berahino: I want to move on to "bigger things"

West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino intends to "remain focused" on his current game before moving on to pastures new in the near future.

Saido Berahino has once more reiterated his desire to further his career by leaving West Bromwich Albion in the future and "moving on to bigger things".

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a strong season to date for the Baggies, scoring 14 goals in all competitions to see his name linked with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

Having seen a switch fail to materialise during the mid-season window, the 13-times capped England Under-21s international is now hoping to "stay focused" at The Hawthorns before moving on to pastures new.

"I'm taking care of my short-terms right now and if I keep scoring the goals and if I keep doing well for West Bromwich Albion, I know the future will be bright for me and I know that I'll go a long way," he told Sky Sports News.

"I need to stay focused on what I'm doing right now which is scoring the goals and keeping West Bromwich in the Premier League. If I can keep them in the Premier League and score as many goals as I can, I'm pretty sure the fans wouldn't mind me pushing on and moving on to bigger things.

"I'm flattered to be linked to all these sort of teams, but I stay focused. This is my second season in the Premier League and I still have a long way to go. I'm learning a lot from all sorts of different players. For me I just look forward to each game and try to enjoy as much as possible."

Berahino, who made a breakthrough at West Brom in 2013, is contracted to the Midlands club until 2017.
