Andy Carroll to make Newcastle United return?

Liverpool striker Andy Carroll is open to the possibility of a loan move back to Newcastle United, according to a report.

Liverpool striker Andy Carroll would be willing to rejoin former club Newcastle United on a loan deal, according to talkSPORT.

The striker moved to the Reds from Newcastle in January 2011 for a fee of £35m.

However, he has struggled for form and fitness during his stint at Anfield, having found the net on just five occasions.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew recently admitted that he still remains a fan of Carroll's ability.

"You never want to lose great players and we never wanted to lose Andy. I'd take him back if I had the chance," said Pardew.

"If the fee offered by Liverpool had not been so high, he'd still be here."

The Magpies are reportedly looking to boost their striking options this month as Demba Ba prepares to represent Senegal in the African Cup of Nations.
