Liverpool defender Jose Enrique believes that it is vital that the club avoids selling Luis Suarez this summer.

Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has claimed it is vital that the club keeps hold of Luis Suarez for next season.

The Uruguayan striker has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer after being handed a 10-match ban by the Football Association for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic during a Premier League fixture in April.

"I think if we keep him we will have a good season next season, for sure," Enrique is quoted as saying by Football365.

"We don't want to lose Luis because he is a top player but you never know. But if he goes, someone else has to come."

Suarez's suspension means that he will miss the first six games of the new campaign.
