Manchester City's Pep Guardiola is named the FIFA Best Men's Coach of the Year ahead of Simone Inzaghi and Luciano Spalletti.

Manchester City's Pep Guardiola has been named the FIFA Best Men's Coach of the Year.

The 52-year-old won the award for the first time in his illustrious career at The Best FIFA Football Awards in London this evening, beating Italian duo Simone Inzaghi and Luciano Spalletti to the prize.

Guardiola guided Man City to a historic treble during the 2022-23 campaign as the Citizens won the Premier League for the third season in a row, beat local rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final and then lifted the Champions League for the first time ever.

In doing so, the Spaniard became the first manager to win the treble twice, having also achieved the feat during his time in charge of Barcelona.

It was also only the second time any English club had completed the continental treble, with Man City emulating their local rivals Manchester United, who achieved the feat in 1999.

Guardiola's success was enough to see off competition from Inzaghi, who led Inter Milan to the Champions League final, where they were beaten by Guardiola's Man City.

Spalletti, meanwhile, led Napoli to their first Serie A triumph since 1990 during the 2022-23 campaign.

I Partenopei finished 16 points clear of Lazio in the Italian top flight to end their 33-year wait to be crowned champions of their country again.
