Manchester City will launch a summer bid for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao and will break the British transfer record to so, according to a report.

Manchester City are ready to break the British transfer record with a £52m bid for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao, according to a report.

The People claims that Roberto Mancini's side will launch a summer bid for the 27-year-old and are confident of securing his signature.

Real Madrid are also said to be interested in the striker, but are unwilling to meet the valuation Atletico have placed on him.

City are reportedly open to offering Edin Dzeko in addition to cash in order to wrap up a deal for one world's top forwards.

Falcao has scored 25 goals for Atletico in 27 appearances in all competitions this season.
