Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester United

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League derby with Manchester United.

Manchester City will endeavour to earn the local bragging rights when Manchester United pay a visit to the Etihad Stadium for Sunday's Manchester derby in the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola's side advanced to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup in midweek with a 2-0 success over Peterborough United thanks to second-half goals from Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish.

The reigning Premier League champions find themselves six points clear at the top of the table after beating Everton 1-0 last weekend, although the Toffees were apologised to by Mike Riley after a seemingly clear handball from Rodri in the area was not penalised.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Man City's injury and suspension news ahead of the showdown with their bitter rivals.

Ruben Dias

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Ruben Dias featured from the first whistle at Peterborough but was brought off at half time due to a hamstring issue, and the centre-back has now been ruled out for the next four to six weeks.

Nathan Ake

Status: Out
Type of injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: Unknown

Similarly, Nathan Ake suffered an injury blow in the FA Cup tie with Peterborough and will not play a part against Man United, but the defender would have been unlikely to start here anyway.

Zack Steffen

Status: Out
Type of injury: Shoulder
Possible return date: Unknown

Zack Steffen was absent from the FA Cup win at Peterborough due to a shoulder injury, and Guardiola's number two is unlikely to be on the bench at the weekend either.

Cole Palmer

Possible return date: Unknown

Youngster Cole Palmer has been out for the long-term with a foot injury, and the 19-year-old remains sidelined for the time being.
