Wayne Rooney hails win at Hull City as "massive result"

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney describes his side's 3-2 win at Hull City as a "massive result", while admitting that he was at fault for James Chester's opener.

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney has described today's 3-2 win at Hull City as a "massive result".

Rooney scored his 150th Premier League goal for United, as the Red Devils came from 2-0 down to record their fifth consecutive victory.

The 28-year-old admits that he was at fault for James Chester's opener, but he believes that his strike, which levelled the match a 2-2, was one of the finest goals of his career.

Rooney told Sky Sports News: "We started poorly today, it was poor defending. The first goal was my fault, I lost my man and we had to come back and score an early goal."

On his equaliser, he added: "That was one of my best goals. I've not seen it back, but it was a big goal for us. We had some bad results at the start of the season, but we are showing our quality now, we are fighting hard and hopefully we can surprise some people now."

Rooney is United's leading scorer this season, with nine goals in 16 Premier League appearances.
