Jan Molby does not believe that Danish compatriot Christian Eriksen is ready for a move to the Premier League.

Former Denmark international Jan Molby does not believe that Ajax starlet Christian Eriksen is ready for a move to the Premier League.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder earned rave reviews for his performances in the Amsterdam club's title-winning campaign last season.

His form has reportedly attracted interested from the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

While Molby is convinced that Eriksen has the potential to play at the top level in the future, he fears that the player's development could suffer if he made such a move so early in his career.

"There is a lot of hype about Christian and there is certainly a lot of potential there as well," said Molby.

"All the top clubs have been looking at him because he has clearly got all the ingredients to one day become a top, top player. But Eriksen is nowhere near being the finished article. In my opinion, I don't think he is anywhere near ready to move to one of the elite European clubs.

"My advice to him would be to continue his development at Ajax for another year. There are few better places for a young player to educate himself about the game than Ajax."

Eriksen has been capped 26 times my Denmark, scoring twice.
